Honestly, the layoff was a relief.

I knew it was coming. I just didn’t know the day. By the time it landed I’d already cleaned out my desk, so I turned in the laptop, badged out for the last time, and went to an early lunch with margaritas with the coworkers I’d just lost. It felt strange. It also felt like relief.

Then I rested. Really rested. And I started reading again, waking up early, sneaking chapters during naptime, staying up too late. Something switched on. A permission button, flipped by nothing more than finally having the space to notice it was there.

I spent 19 years in corporate operations and earned a psychology degree along the way. I’ve also spent a decade building things online, slowly and imperfectly. The part I hadn’t said out loud yet: I’ve built three businesses. I’m saying it here first.
